Google Plus now a must for Webmasters

Since the introduction of Google Plus is has become clear to me that websites with a lot of +1′s receive some additional attention from the Google search engine bot. A small experiment I conducted with two websites showed that getting more plus +1′s added value to a specific websites page rank.

I took a term that I was ranking for on a website with no Google+ integrated. The average search engine position was 6-8. I then enabled Google Plus on that website and got 20 +1′s on the content page for that term. Surprisingly in two weeks I discovered the same article now had an average search engine position of 1-3.

Pretty amazing results! Now this keyword wasn’t one that is impossible to rank for that that may have been the reason I was easily able to improve my rank. However there is no doubt in my mind that integrating Google Plus with your website will give it some SEO (Search Engine Optimization) benefits.
